July 16th. Brenda and Howard A. Spencer celebrated their 45th Year of marriage. They lovingly share 3 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

Her mother, the late, Jessie Rennick Turner (The Gospel Song Bird.) Vocal singer in her own rites of the Stanly County area. She too sang in Mount Vernon and the 'Saints Delight Holiness Church' all of her singing life.

 

Brenda's formal training came from her mother. She says her body is God's Temple. Her voice is the messenger for God's Word through songs. Brenda never realized until the death of her mother that she had an instrument for deliverance of God's Word. She did not try to use it formally until her mother's death. After singing at an AM service in New Rochell, NY Brenda went on to sing at a Mount Vernon PM Service celebrating her Uncle Lonie Rinnick's 100th. Birthday she was told by Mrs. Lois Powell she needed to come out of hiding.

 

Brenda taught Liturgical dance to young ladies and young men. Introducing them to the professional world of dance of Ms. Penny Boyes. While God planted His Word in her, she sang with several choirs, groups and singles during this time.

 

She was strongly encouraged to sing, write and record by Ben Dodge owner, manager and technician of E&I Studios, Troy, North Carolina.

 

Her favorite song is “Lord You Are” written and sang by her. Psalm 23:1-2 is her favorite scripture and the road map for her life for such a time as this.
